Searching for an Apartment with My Mom

I’m from Atlanta, and I’ve been thinking about moving back to the area for at least a year now. I have been living in Texas for the past five years, mostly because this is where my job is located. I have an opportunity to start a brand-new job in my hometown, and I’m really considering it. I called my mom to tell her that I was looking for apartments in 30318. That’s all I had to say, and she got really excited. She knew that meant that I was considering moving back home. I asked her if she would help me look for a place to live, and she immediately encouraged me to move back home. I thanked her for her offer, but I told her that I’ve been living alone for so long that I really want my own place. She understood and agreed to help me search for an apartment.

We sat down together later that week and made a list of all the things that I was looking for in an apartment. Because I had a, I told her that it would be really important that my new apartment allowed pets. I could move somewhere and not take my cat with me. My mom agreed with me, and asked me for the next item on my list. I told her that I really wanted to have a swimming pool in my new apartment, because my current apartment did not have one. I used to be a swimmer in high school, and I really miss being in the pool.

I went down the remainder of my list with my mom and as I was reading the items off, she was performing a search online for the criteria that I indicated. She told me that she found an apartment that had all of the things that I wanted. It was located in the area that I desired, it allowed pets, and it had a pool. I got really excited, and decided to give them a call right away. They were closed, but I left a message.
