Cake from an Unlikely Place

Earlier in the week, I learned about the Instant Pot cheesecake recipe. The idea of a cake being made in a pot was a foreign concept to me, but I guess anything is possible. I had to try it out for myself to see if it would really work, so I bought some ingredients to make a strawberry cheesecake right in the pot. I also invited some of my friends over to have a tasting with me. I told them to bring some wine as well so we could really make it into a wine and cheesecake party.

Making the cake wasn’t hard, as the pot did most of the work. All I had to do was simply mix the ingredients and put it in the pot and set the cooking time. My friends and I drank some wine to pass the time while the cake was cooking. I didn’t want to drink too much wine and pass out before I had a chance to actually eat the cake. Once the pot was done making the cake, I took it out and it smelled heavenly. I added the strawberry topping and cut the cake for everyone to eat.

If no one had ever told me that the cake had been made in a pot, I would have never known. It tasted like any other cheesecake that would be made by normal means. I guess that pot can truly cook anything. I heard it can even make yogurt, but I’ve never been courageous enough to try it. I think I’ll turn that into my next cooking project. I’ll make a special berry blend yogurt that will be good to eat with some granola in a parfait during a late summer evening while I’m sitting on the patio, watching the fireflies go by.
